Honduras Mariano de Jesus - 250g
Honduras Mariano de Jesus comes from a single producer, Mariano de Jesús Ramírez, farming in the community of Azacualpa in the municipality of Tomala, deep in the Lempira department of western Honduras. Coffee has been part of Mariano's life since childhood — his father planted the first plot of coffee in El Zapote in 1970, and Mariano planted his own first hectare in 1986. Decades on, his farm delivers an exceptional fully washed microlot grown at elevations between 1,400 and 1,750 MASL across a complementary mix of Red Catuaí, Pacas, Lempira, and IHCAFE 90.
Honduras is now the largest coffee producer in Central America, exporting over five million bags annually. The terroir of Lempira — its altitude, rich soils, and cool mountain climate — sits at the heart of that story, and single-producer lots like Mariano's represent its finest expression.
In the cup: sticky date pudding, stewed plum, blackcurrant, and toffee apple. As espresso it's indulgent and layered — dark fruit and caramel sweetness with a long finish. Through filter it's refined and juicy, with bright blackcurrant and stone fruit clarity.
