Great question! Let's give you a brief overview:

We supply delicious specialty coffee, in bags with your own branding on it, and we make it easy and convenient to get your hands on.

We do all orders via our website, which helps to eliminate unnecessary overheads.

  1. Order & pay for your chosen specialty coffee online;
  2. Send us your BRAND, which means emailing your logo to us at hello@brandroastsupply.com. If you've ordered with us before, we will have this on file.
  3. We ROAST your coffee fresh once we receive your order (Note, order before 10am business days for same day fulfillment)
  4. We send out your SUPPLY via courier to get it to you as fast as possible.

If you'd prefer to chat to someone about all this, please send us a message here.

How is your coffee so well priced?

We have eliminated as many things along the supply chain as possible to give you the best value for money.

We buy our green coffee in large volumes to keep costs down.

We know that a 20kg box is the optimum packaging size to be sent out for postals or couriers.

By receiving your whole order before fulfilling it, we ensure freshness and eliminate wastage.

We incentivise bulk purchasing of coffee, as it helps to reduce the delivery cost per kg of coffee.

All of these things plus more mean we can run things as lean and mean as possible, to ensure we can offer you the best price possible.

Can I taste your coffee before I buy?

Absolutely!

Please fill out your details here and we'll be in touch very shortly and get some coffee over to you.

Do you ever do sales or offer discounts?

Every day is a sale with Brand Roast Supply!

We already offer more than 60% off our retail price with our every day pricing if you're on our highest tier. We want to ensure that you have the same opportunity to get premium specialty coffee at an incredible price every day, not just when a sale is on, or a discount is available.

OUR COFFEE

How do I know your coffee is going to taste good?

We're proud to say that our coffees have gained a loyal following over the years, having been enjoyed by over 6.8 million people across our wholesale customers, ecommerce stores and our own company run cafes.

Our Melbourne based roasting team takes great care in selecting and roasting specialty grade coffees to create blends that are both versatile and delicious.

Is your coffee specialty grade?

Yes, absolutely!

We only use specialty coffee for all of our blends, to ensure you receive a top quality product for a great value price. This is absolutely a non negotiable factor for us. Many other roasters might use inferior beans to keep their costs low, but we have instead kept our other overheads as low as possible to give you the best cup, at the best price, with your own branding.

What extraction recipe/ratio do you recommend for your specialty coffee?

We recommend anywhere from a 1:2 up to 1:3 ratio for our coffee. This means that if you have a 20g dose of dry, ground specialty coffee for example, we would recommend having anywhere from a 40g yield, up to a 60g yield of extracted, liquid coffee.

We personally think that 1:2.5 is pretty much the perfect tasting ratio for most palates, providing enough body and richness for a true espresso, while highlighting the sweetness and flavours as well. This would be a 50g yield, for a 20g dose. (20g Dose x 2.5 Ratio = 50g Yield)

In terms of dose, it really depends on your personal espresso machine setup, and the size of your baskets. We have seen great tasting shots of our coffee anywhere from 17g up to 25g. Generally a higher dose can give a stronger or richer flavour (to a point), but it's more important to ensure that the dose is correct for your setup. The yield can then be calculated from this dose, simply multiply your dose by your ratio to find your yield: eg: 21g Dose x 2.5 Ratio = 52.5g yield.

We recommend a machine temperature anywhere between 88-94 degrees, really depending on your personal preference. Lower temperatures will generally highlight sweetness & acidity, while higher temperatures will generally accentuate strength, body & more chocolately notes. We personally like the 92-93 range, as it balances these elements really well.

We recommend a 28-32 second extraction time generally (this is excluding pre-infusion should you choose to use it). If your coffee is a little older, perhaps 4 weeks plus, push this time a little longer. If you are using pre-infusion, add this time on to the above guide. Eg: 3 second preinfusion would give you 31-35 second extraction overall, including pre-infusion.

Remember, all of this is a guide, let your tastebuds guide you - you've got this!

How do you keep the flavour of the coffee so good and so consistent? Will the flavour of my specialty coffee blend change over time?

All of our blends are profile blends.

What this means, is that although we will change the individual coffees that go into the blend over time, (coffee beans are a seasonal product) the flavour profile of that coffee blend will always stay the same.

We have decades of roasting experience, and have been doing exactly this for our own blends and others for many years.

I don't have a coffee grinder at home, and I couldn't find where to select ground coffee for 1kg bags?

You are correct! We do not offer ground coffee for our 1kg options, only whole bean.

We find that the vast majority of our customers are using our coffee and putting them into the grinders they may have at their cafe, or home or office. If we grind your coffee, it will take us longer to fulfil the order, the coffee won't last as long once ground, and it goes against our philosophy of keeping things simple. All of these things would mean that we couldn't maintain the incredible pricing on the 1kg bags that we can offer.

We do offer ground coffee for our 250g bag options, as we find due to the more retail nature of this bag size, our customers like to have the option of having their coffee pre-ground. There is a charge of 50c per bag if you would like us to grind it for you.

How long will my coffee last?

We find that our roasted specialty coffee will easily last 6-8 weeks from roast date, but we've tested it up to 6 months from roast date, and it continues to taste delicious!

Try different order volumes, and find what is perfect for you and your customers taste buds.

Can I design my own specialty coffee blend?

Yes, this is absolutely a service we have available to our customers who are using a large amount of coffee on a regular basis. To be eligible, you must be using more than 200kg weekly.

If this is you, please get in touch with us here, we'd love to have a chat.

Having said that, we do find that the vast majority of our customers find one of our exisiting blends fits what they're looking for. If you can't find a flavour you want, reach out to here and we'll give you some advice based on what flavour you're looking to achieve in your business.

LOGO, DESIGN AND BAG INFORMATION

Do you print directly on to the bag or use a sticker?

We print directly onto the bag, using our proprietary bag printer.

This looks significantly better and more professional than stickers, and we have the ability to control this printing process in house, with very little lead time.

How do I send you my logo, and do I need to upload it every time?

Email your logo to us hello@brandroastsupply.com, once you are happy with how your branded coffee bags look, we will keep this on file so we have it ready every time you order.

What size, format & file type should my logo be in?

We can make a logo from any .png, .jpeg or .pdf file. Higher definitions will give us the flexibility to make much higher quality prints.

What kind of information/design can I print on the bag?

We recommend having your logo, in the format and specified in the above FAQ, as well as the size (1kg) as a minimum on the bag. You are welcome to use our blend names, or have your own one, or none at all.

We will keep all the printed information to a size of 90mm x 90mm. Please note that really detailed information, lots of text and large blocks of solid black will likely not print as well, so we strongly advise to keeping a fairly minimalist aesthetic to your design.

Can I have my logo printed in colour, or a different colour bag?

Currently, we only offer black printing on white bags. We want to ensure we can give you branding for your business while keeping the overheads (and the cost to you) as low as possible. We find that black printing on white bags satisfies the majority of the market we service, hence this is offer we have.

You are welcome to supply your choice of bag to us though, and we can use them to pack your specialty coffee instead.

Reach out to here if you'd like to explore this option.

What kind of 1kg coffee bags do you use?

We use a matte white 1kg side gusset bag, with a one way valve centred near the top of the bag.

We use these bags as they maintain the freshness and quality of your specialty coffee, allowing it to degas as needed, and they fit correctly into our custom sized boxes to be sent out to you at the best possible price.

We do not have a zip on the bag, as we find for 1kg bags, the majority of our customers are using each kg fairly quickly, and do not have a requirement to reseal.

What kind of 250g coffee bags do you use?

We use a matte white 250g box bottom bag, with a one way valve centred near the top of the bag, and a rippa zipper.

We use these bags as they maintain the freshness and quality of your specialty coffee, allowing it to degas as needed, and they fit correctly into our custom sized boxes to be sent out to you at the best possible price.

We have a resealable zip on these bags as we find for 250g bags, the majority of our customers are using these slower, and prefer the opportunity to reseal.

Can I have a custom/fully designed bag for my specialty coffee?

Yes, absolutely.

If you already have your coffee bags ready to go, we can absolutely pack our delicious specialty coffee into your bags. Just have your bags delivered to us, and we can get the ball rolling.

If you don't have a bag yet, but would like some help with this, we can put you in touch with some people who will design it for you, with a view to getting it made.

Note there will often be minimum order quantities of production for the bag manufacturers, and often a lead time as well. This is a cost and time frame that you will need to cover, but again, we can then start putting our delicious specialty coffee into your coffee bags.

Please reach out to us here if you'd like to discuss this further.

ORDERING AND DELIVERY

Do I need to order coffee every week?

Not at all! We've designed our offering so you can order coffee in the timeframe that suits you. In fact, a lot of our customers have gone from weekly ordering to ordering every 4 weeks or longer, to take advantage of the lower pricing.

As an example, if you move from a weekly 10kg order, to ordering 40kg every 4 weeks, you would save $4,212 every year, while ordering every 8 weeks would save $5,252 every year. It's really up to you, and how much you want to save.

Am I locked into a contract, or is there a minimum order I have to meet to get the pricing?

Absolutely not!

We want to offer wholesale pricing to all of our customers, without penalising you for not ordering every week. You can place on order with us, get your delicious specialty coffee from us, at an amazing price, with your branding, and never buy from us again. But let's be honest, why would you only take up such an amazing deal only once?

No contracts, no minimum orders, ever.

How long will it take for my order to get to me?

We know, we know. You've ordered your delicious specialty coffee, and now you want it super fast so you can drink it straight away!

If we receive your order before 10am AEST on a Victorian business day (watch out for those public holidays!), we will have it packed and passed to our courier partners that same day.

We find that orders will usually be delivered to you 1-3 business days from dispatch for Melbourne Metro, and 2-5 business days for Regional Victoria.

Interstate major cities and surrounds we find will be 1-4 business days for Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide, up to 5 business days for Hobart, while Perth & Darwin may take 5-7 business days or more.

Interstate regional will be usually a day or two extra on top of the major city timings.

Please keep in mind we have delivery partners to ship the coffee, but we do not directly control how long delivery will take. Once it leaves our roastery, it is unfortunately outside of our control, and we have no influence over any delays that may occur.

Can I get my coffee delivered to a PO Box?

This is not somthing we can currently facilitate: we can only deliver to physical addresses.

We either use courier services or Australia Post to send all of our orders around Australia, and the method of delivery is determined by the fastest, best value delivery partner we can find from our roastery to your location. Because of this, we can't use PO Boxes, as we'll be limited to using Australia Post, and the last thing we want to do is give you a subpar experience due to limitations on our shipping partners.

Can I have my order split and delivered to multiple addresses, or have part of it delivered now, and part later on?

One of the reasons why we can offer better pricing for bulk specialty coffee orders, is that we keep things super simple, which means one delivery address per order, and every order goes out all at once.

If you would like amounts sent to various addresses, please order the amount you'd like to be sent to each address separately, and complete and pay for the order, before moving onto the next address and quantity for the next, new order.

How do I add an order note to my order?

Once you have selected your desired order, go to the basket, and their will be a text box option there to add any notes you may need to.

Alternatively, feel free to message us here.

Can I pick up my specialty coffee order in person?

Absolutely!

You're welcome to pick up in person from our roastery in Port Melbourne if you need it super quickly, please email us at hello@brandroastsupply.com after placing your order, and we will give you an indicative pick up time.

Can I get payment terms and pay some time after I order?

We ensure all of our customers pay at the same time as ordering their coffee. This means we can avoid any overheads related to accounts or chasing up payments, meaning we can put these savings into offering you the best possible value for your specialty coffee.

Can I get a mix of different blends in a box, or split my order across multiple blends?

In order for us to keep the best possible pricing to you, we need to keep things as simple as possible.

This means that the great pricing you get for ordering more coffee, we can only maintain by keeping things simple, and putting one kind of specialty coffee into the box.

We are working on a possible tasting pack on the future though, so watch this space!

EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING

Can I get a coffee machine or grinder from you for my cafe when I buy coffee?

This is not a service we can offer included in the prices of the coffee. One of the big reasons why we can give you the incredible prices we do on our specialty coffee, is that we keep our overheads as low as possible. This means that our customers need to provide their own equipment on their bench or at home to make their coffee with.

Having said that, we usually have some equipment available for sale, or can point you in the direction of some great people who sell equipment, and/or finance people to help you get all set up, with a weekly or monthly equipment charge.

Please reach out to us here if you'd like more information on this.

Do you offer barista training for my staff?

This is not a service we can offer currently, as we supply our coffee Australia wide, and we want to ensure that keep prices low for everyone to enjoy great coffee.

We believe that the people who will really benefit from our offering are those who already really know how to make great coffee, and are comfortable and capable to run their own barista team and train in house. By not having these overheads, it means that we can continue to offer incredible value with our specialty coffee.

We may consider an option where you can choose to purchase a training course in the future, if this is an option you'd like to see, please let us know here
